The train when it eventually came, was much fuller than they'd expected and all the seats were taken. Finola, whose shoes had higher heels then Carol's, complained that she'd have blisters by the time they got to seapoint. Tony told her that she'd have been better off wearing sensible flatties like Carol and Finola had objected that Carol's shoes couldn't possibly be considered sensible even if they were flat - they were designer shoes, for heaven sake.

"What does that exact mean?" Tony grabbed hold on the rail as the train pulled out of the station. "Surely every thing is designed by someone?"

"Ah but some are, you know, named designers," said Finola.

"Everyone has a name," objected Tony.

"Well, it's the same with cars," Carol pointed out. "You drive a Merc, don't you?"

"Not a big one," Finola interjected.

"No, but it's a statement, isn't it? You could drive a different sort of car but with exactly the same features, but you don't because the Merc says something about you."

"At least everyone can see it's an expensive car." said Tony. "But nobody could tell whether your shoes were bought in Dunnes or a little boutique in Blackrock."

Carol laughed. "I can assure you that anyone who knows about shoes knew that they weren't bought in a chain store."
And all I wanted for this month are just these 2 pairs of shoes. Huhu.
